Tennis courts at Ala Moana Regional Park closing for resurfacing

Project scheduled to begin on January 24, 2018. Expected to finish by end of March 2018.

Ala Moana -- As part of Mayor Kirk Caldwell's Kakou for Parks initiative to resurface public play courts across Oʻahu, the popular tennis courts at Ala Moana Regional Park are scheduled for renovation starting on January 24, 2018, weather permitting.

The resurfacing project will begin at the practice court and the adjacent court on the mauka, Diamond Head side of the facility and progress in the Ewa direction.

The courts are scheduled to be closed on a rotating basis in order to allow public access to those courts not being actively renovated. No more than five courts are expected to be closed at a given time. A total of ten play courts and the practice court are slated for resurfacing. The project is expected to finish by the end of March 2018.

The $249,200 contract for this project is being completed by All Court Hawaiʻi.

As of today, the Kakou for Parks program has resulted in 189 resurfaced play courts at 43 parks, 68 new or refurbished play apparatus, and 63 renovated comfort stations. This represents improvements at 120 different parks around the island. Follow the progress of the initiative at parks.honolulu.gov or by clicking here.
