Municipal golf courses to begin taking reservations on May 1

HONOLULU – Public and private golf courses are among the businesses on O‘ahu now able to operate with limitations according to Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s Emergency Order No. 2020-09.

Advance tee time reservations for all municipal golf courses will re-open at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, May 1. These reservations are accepted via an automated reservation system and golf play is set to begin again on Tuesday, May 5. The driving range at Ala Wai Golf Course is also scheduled to re-open on Tuesday, May 5.

Walk-in and stand-by play at municipal golf courses will not be allowed at this time. The re-opening of golf concessions are yet to be determined.

Public and private golf courses on O‘ahu are allowed to operate in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the “Procedures for Reintroduction to the Game and Business of Golf” by the Professional Golfers’ Association’s (PGA) Aloha Section, to the extent reasonably practicable. Those guidelines are attached for reference. The Mayor’s new Emergency Order is effective through 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18.

For questions about Mayor Caldwell’s Emergency Order, the City and County of Honolulu COVID-19 information call center remains open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on holidays. O‘ahu residents are encouraged to visit the website, oneoahu.org to get answers to frequently asked questions. If they do not find an answer to their questions on the site, residents can call the 768-CITY (2489) information hotline or email covidresponse@honolulu.gov.
