SFCA Calls for Student Artists

Young Artists of Hawaiʻi (K-6)
Students and educators: submissions are open for the 2021 Young Artists of Hawaiʻi competition! Public, charter, private, or home-school Hawaiʻi students enrolled in grades K-6 are eligible to participate.
Young Artists of Hawaiʻi is an annual student art competition and exhibition. Presented by the State Foundation on culture and the Arts and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, this program recognizes creative excellence among Hawaiʻi’s public and private school students, Kindergarten through sixth grade. A panel of judges select 96 works for the exhibition, which is presented at the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum (May 14 - June 25, 2021). A replica of the exhibit is displayed at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center (May 2021 - March 2022).

Submissions close Friday, January 25, 2021.

2021 Hawaiʻi Regional Scholastic Art Awards (7-12)
Students and educators: submissions are open for the 2021 Scholastic Student Art and Writing Awards competition! Read the tips for students and educators, including feedback from judges and preparing for the digital submissions process: Get Ready for the 2021 Awards. Public, charter, private, or home-school students in the U.S., Canada, or American schools in the rest of the world enrolled in grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) are eligible to participate.

Categories include comic art, design, fashion, and film. See the full list of categories on the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards website:

State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) is the Hawaiʻi regional Affiliate Partner for the Scholastic Student Art and Writing Awards. SFCA participates in the student art portion of the competition, and all entry fees for Hawaiʻi students associated with the competition are covered by the SFCA.
