HB 1807 Relating to the Works of Art Special Fund.

◦   Repeals capital improvement appropriations for renovations of state buildings as a source of funds for the works of art special fund.

◦   This would cut over 50% of the
Art in Public Places Program revenue.

◦   Reducing the funding would have adverse effects on the arts programs the
State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) supports, events, artists engaged in school activities, artwork purchases, museum operations, and more.

•
HB 1939 Relating to the Arts. Appropriates funds to the SFCA to support arts and healing programs in Maui recovery efforts.

•
HB 1940 Making an Appropriation to the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Appropriates funds out of the works of art special fund to the SFCA for the integration of works of art projects into several major capital improvement projects. This would further the SFCA’s mission to collectively promote diverse, equitable, and high-quality arts education in Hawaiʻi.
