FIRST FRIDAY: A HONOLULU PRIDE CELEBRATION & OCTOBER 2025 COMING EVENTS

FIRST FRIDAY
Celebration Honolulu Pride! Drag show, drag art gallery tour, live music, pop-up artists, food vendors, and urban market with Art + Flea.
Museum galleries open. Drag tours with Cocoa Chandelier throughout the evening and Generation Next drag show 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Free admission, all ages welcome.
Friday, October 3, 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

MUSEUM HOURS UPDATE
MUSEUM DAYS REDUCED STARTING AUGUST 1
Capitol Modern: the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum open days will reduce from 6 days to 4 days starting August 1, 2025. Open: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Closed: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Hawaiʻi state government holidays.
Admission is still free! Capitol Modern is a part of the SFCA Art in Public Places Program, supported by public funding from the Hawaiʻi State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

MAUI ARTS & CULTURAL CENTER SCHAEFER PORTRAIT CHALLENGE 2025
Maui Arts & Cultural Center is pleased to be partnering with the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to travel Schaefer Portrait Challenge 2025 in its entirety to Oʻahu for exhibition at the Capitol Modern: The Hawaiʻi State Art Museum. The exhibition is currently slated to open in January 2026 and will remain on view for the first half of next year.
