Island Pulse

Island roots and reggae night presented by Mundo Reggae. April features Trishnālei and Maryanne Ito, Rexie and Kelsea Armstrong with FP All Stars, and surprise special guests. Hosted by Miss Lulu. Local artists and food vendors in the Art+Flea urban market.

The
MORI by Art+Flea shop on the ground floor will also be accepting food and cleaning/safety supply donations for community members impacted by the Kona Low storms. Learn more on their website: MoriByAF.com.

Fundraiser event by the Friends of Capitol Modern: the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum. Theme: “Celestial Concerto”.

Trios of artworks selected by twenty-one guest curators. The curators volunteered to go through the SFCA Art in Public Places Collection and pick three artworks for display.

    The free, contemporary public art gallery of Hawai‘i has evolved and rebranded, debuting a new name, creative gathering spaces and calendar of events. Formerly called the Hawai‘i State Art Museum (HISAM), the name Capitol Modern is meant to better reflect its location in Honolulu’s historic Capitol District and the vibrant modern art experience people have come to love.

    Capitol Modern is eager for the public to experience this next chapter in their evolution as the people’s museum, and the opportunity to reach diverse audiences in all Hawai‘i communities.
